While I didn't have any experience per se, like you did, it wasn't like I was going blind either, there is much in the Bible that talks about what fathers should do and how they should act, as well as the many tips/examples my own father made/did.<br /> <br />Perhaps the most important precept about fatherhood from the Bible, and something I saw my own father display, day in and day out, was to love your wife the same way Christ loved the Church. Christ gave his life for the Church and fathers are commanded to love their wives in the same way. Now a wife is not usually in danger, but there are other ways a father can lay down his life for his family. <br /><br />To give a practical example, if I'm playing a game, but my wife or kids need something/me, I always pause/quit game and take care of them. If I want to go somewhere, but they need me, I forgo it - this way I am laying down my life for my wife/children, day by day.
